Definition
The English language which developed from Old English under the Normans and Plantagenets, during the High and Late Middle Ages, from c. 1100-1470. Subsequently the language developed into Early Modern English.
The language and vernacular (English) literature of the Anglo-Saxons in England between the fifth and eleventh centuries.
The period of European history broadly between 1000AD-1500AD.
The period from the late Middle Ages until around 1800.
