A-Z: General definitions: Woman taken in Adultery

Definition

A woman mentioned in John's Gospel, who had been caught in the act of adultery and was brought before Jesus by the teachers of the law and Pharisees in an attempt to trap him. They asked him if the woman should be stoned according to Jewish Law.
