Definition

1. Name used for the city of Jerusalem. David captured Zion (or Sion]) from the Canaanites (2 Samuel 5:6) and made it his political and religious capital. 2. The place where the Temple stood and therefore God's dwelling place. David's son Solomon built the temple there (1 Kings 6:1). 3.
