The temple was the building erected in Jerusalem where the Jews believed the presence of God resided. For Christians, their bodies are 'temples' of God's Holy SpiritCultural References
Big ideas: Temple, tabernacleA sacred building used for worship. In the Bible, the Temple was the centre of Jewish worship in Jerusalem. In the New Testament, the term is also used as an image of the believer's physical body.
The city on a hill (Mt. Zion) which King David captured and made the capital of Israel. It was the site of the Temple built by Solomon and of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Today it is still a holy city for Jews, Christians and Muslims.
