Definition
Following the theology of the Dutch seventeenth century theologian, Arminius. He stressed the importance of freewill and the ability of individuals to choose God, as opposed to Martin Luther and John Calvin, who emphasised a person's inability to choose rightly and therefore the need for God to make decisions.

Martin Luther, a 16BCE monk and religious scholar and writer. A Lutheran is someone who follows the religious beliefs of Martin Luther. The Lutheran church is represented worldwide.
