A-Z: General definitions: Imagist
Definition
Imagism was a modernist poetic movement from the early twentieth century which strived to convey meaning by a series of clearly but economically described images (in reaction to the sentimental narrative associated with Victorian poets).
A follower or adherent of the modernism movement of the first half of the twentieth century, which rejected traditional modes and certainties.
