Many poems are about the nativity, that is, the birth of Jesus Christ in a stable at Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph at what is now called Christmas. See also Blessed Virgin Mary and MagiThe birth of Jesus
The name given to the man believed by Christians to be the Son of God. Also given the title Christ, meaning 'anointed one' or Messiah. His life is recorded most fully in the Four Gospels.
Title (eventually used as name) given to Jesus, refering to an anointed person set apart for a special task such as a king.
A town south of Jerusalem. The birthplace of David and Jesus, over which the star hovered at the Nativity.
The mother of Jesus. The Gospels state that Mary's pregnancy was brought about by the Holy Spirit and not through a human relationship; she is therefore known as the 'Virgin'.

Mary, the mother of Jesus and wife of Joseph. It is traditionally understood that Mary was, and remained, a virgin during both the conception and birth of Jesus.
Eastern wise men and astrologers expert in interpreting dreams. In the New Testament men whose interpretation of the stars led them to Palestine to find and honour Jesus with gifts signifying his kingship.
