Definition

The Israelites and Christians are urged to find stability by making the service and love of God their desire. 'Grant ' that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our heart may surely there be fixed, where true joys are to be found' (Taken from the Book of Common Prayer, 1662, Collect 4th Sunday after Easter). 'Give your people grace ' that, among the many changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found' (Taken from the Common Worship, Collect for 4th Sunday before Lent)
