Definition
A political system of thought, based on the writings of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, which analyses social organisation according to material provision. The system was developed to form the basis for Communist theories. Attempts at Marxist societies have occurred across the globe in countries such as Cuba and Mozambique.
An economic ideology based on gaining common ownership of the means of production. This is achieved by political revolution and social engineering; a communist is a followed of this ideology.
