Definition
In the Old Testament, the Jewish mother-in-law of Ruth. Naomi, with her husband and two sons, left Bethlehem because of famine in the land to go to Moab. Her sons married Moabite girls, and after her husband and sons died Naomi returned to Bethlehem accompanied by Ruth.
