Definition
Oceanus, also referred to as Ocean, the eldest of the Titans. Early Greeks saw the earth as flat, with a river surrounding it. Oceanus was the god of this river. On the other side of the river were the places such as the garden of the Hesperides and the home of the Gorgons.
