Definition

Odysseus defeats the wiles of Circe. Odysseus and his men landed on the island which belonged to Circe. Eurylochus took some men to explore the island. Circe welcomed them into her house, but Eurylochus was suspicious and stayed outside. So when the men were turned into pigs, he was able to return to Odysseus with the news. Odysseus asked Hermes for help and was given a plant which protected him from her spells. So he was able to defeat Circe and force her to restore his men.
