356-323BC Educated by Aristotle, his father was assassinated and he inherited a powerful kingdom, aged 20. During his life he fought many wars, expanding the Grecian empire around the Mediterranean and as far east as India. He founded over 70 cities, including Alexandria in Egypt and is remembered for his military genius.
