Definition
A person who desires to keep the union with the United Kingdom, rather be part of an independent Ireland. (Such a person may also be referred to as a Loyalist.) A supporter of the 1801 Acts of Union between Great Britain and Ireland. A member of a British political party supporting the continuance of the parliamentary union between Great Britain and Ireland.
