Definition

The wrath of God appears in the Old Testament as a divine response to a world that has been corrupted by sin and injustice (see Fall of humankind, salvation). It is linked with the image of fire. The New Testament speaks of God's wrath both in present and future terms. Wrath also describes the day of judgement. (Revelation 11:8).
