Definition
1. A preacher who seeks to persuade his or her listeners to adopt Christianity. See Evangelism. 2. Any of the writers of the Gospels.
A person within a church appointed to give a sermon at the worship services of that church. He may be the leader of that church, or someone within that church recognised as having a special ability to preach.
The beliefs, doctrines and practices of Christians.
The process of spreading the central message of Christianity - the 'good news' or gospel (evangel): the belief, summarised by Paul, that Christ died for the sins of humankind and was raised to life again.
From Gospel - Literally 'good news' - used of the message preached by Jesus recorded in the New Testament.
Title given to the four New Testament books which describe the life of Jesus Christ i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
