Definition
A Christian doctrine which regards God as one being but having three manifestations: God the Father, Creator of all things; God the Son, in the person of Jesus Christ; and God the Holy Spirit, the power of God working within the lives of Christians.

Name originally given to disciples of Jesus by outsiders and gradually adopted by the Early Church.
