Definition
The military army formed in 1645 by the Parliamentarians in the English Civil War and lasting until the restoration of the monarchy in 1660.
A member of parliament; a supporter of Parliament in the English Civil War, a Roundhead
(1642-51). Series of military conflicts which rose out of religious, political and financial tensions between King Charles I and Parliament, which was increasingly influenced by Puritan sympathies.
