Definition
An act expressing repentance. In the Roman Catholic Church, a sacrament involving contrition (sorrow for sin) , confession, satisfaction (e.g. prayer, fasting, almsgving or pilgrimage) and absolution (formal declaration of God's forgiveness, pronounced by a priest) .Translation
