Definition
Hebrew name for God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the Israelites. Regarded as too holy a name to be written in full, the Hebrew texts reference God as YHWH, transliterated as Jehovah in Older English Bibles.

The Bible describes God as the unique supreme being, creator and ruler of the universe.
