A-Z: Books of the Bible: Jude
Genre
NT epistle (letter)Description
This is a short letter from Jude, the brother of James, warning against those who reject Christ. He describes their behaviour in very colourful language and predicts their certain doom.
Big ideas: Judgement
1. James, the 'brother of Jesus'. 2. James, son of Zebedee, the first apostle to be killed. 3. James son of Alphaeus, also an apostle.
Title (eventually used as name) given to Jesus, refering to an anointed person set apart for a special task such as a king.
Old English term for judgement, frequently applied to the concept of the final judgement and therefore, associated with a negative fate.
