Definition
According to Roman Catholic teaching, sin committed consciously and deliberately, which places the soul in serious jeopardy. Can only be forgiven through the sacrament of penance by confession to a priest.Member of a worldwide Christian church which traces its origins from St. Peter, one of Jesus' original disciples. It has a continuous history from earliest Christianity.
Disobedience to the known will of God. According to Christian theology human beings have displayed a pre-disposition to sin since the Fall of Humankind.
The spirit which gives life to a human being; the part which lives on after death; a person's inner being (personality, intellect, emotions and will) which distinguishes them from animals.
