The first Book of the Bible, containing an account of God's creation of the universe of earth and of humans (Genesis chapters 1,2,3), then his dealings with the family of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph.

The Christian Bible consists of the Old Testament scriptures inherited from Judaism, together with the New Testament, drawn from writings produced from c.40-125CE, which describe the life of Jesus and the establishment of the Christian church.
