Froth
Froth is, as his name so clearly suggests, a trivial young man. He appears only in Act II sc i, being brought before Angelo and Escalus for immoral behaviour in Mistress Overdone's house. Pompey claims that Froth has a small but steady income – he is ‘a man of fourscore pound a year'. Froth later confirms this to Escalus, who, realising that he is an easily-led but otherwise harmless young man, releases Froth with some good advice, telling him to avoid being taken in by so-called tapsters, who are likely to end up on the gallows:
Froth, I would not have you acquainted with tapsters; they will draw you, and you will hang them. Get you gone, and let me hear no more of you.
